2nd Annual “Drummer’s Weekend” Oct 31-Nov 2nd, 2014!

CRASH Concert 2014 copyPWG_0171drummers weekend Hello friends! I am very excited to be hosting my 2nd Annual “Drummer’s Weekend” in Nashville on October 31 thought November 2nd, 2014. This is a truly immersive, one of a kind event that gets drummers up close an personal with the drummers that are making the world of popular music happen NOW! Guests are immersed in 24 hours of hands on training with me and my guest teachers that include Liberty Devitto (Billy Joel), Chris Fryar (Zac Brown Band), and Sean Paddock (Kenny Chesney). Other teachers include percussionist Billy Hawn (Colbie Callait) and Ableton expert Ben Jackson (Frankie Ballard). Jim Riley (Rascal Flatts) will be teaching a class on The Nashville Number System, and Bruce Springsteen/Max Weinberg drum tech Matt Payne, will teach a tuning masterclass. Danny and Beth Gottlieb (Lt. Dan Band, Pat Metheny, Sessions) Jack Bruno (Tine Turner/Joe Cocker), and Jason Aldean’s 3 Kings rhythm section (Kurt Allison, Tully Kennedy) will be making themselves available for insightful Q and A sessions. I love to spoil everyone with 3 catered meals per day, so Rockstar drummers like Eddie Bayers (Studio Legend), Ed Toth (The Doobie Brothers), Garret Goodwin (Carrie Underwood), Matt Billingslea (Taylor Swift), Lester Estelle (Kelly Clarkson), Sean Fuller (Florida Georgia Line), Keio Stroud (Big and Rich), Kent Slucher (Luke Bryan), William Ellis (Montgomery Gentry) and other surprise guests will be mingling and dining at 4 star meals with students. This same group will be part of a studio/touring drummer roundtable for Q and A and demonstrations. Tesla drummer Troy Luccketta will be at the camp the entire time as my official “artist in residence”. An all star rhythm section of Chris Nix (Chuck Wicks/Sessions) and Luis Espaillat (Lindsay Ell/Sessions) will be on site to play with students and provide feedback for immediate improvement. This same rhythm section will be the house band for our Closing Ceremony Concert at the famed Douglas Corner Cafe. This event allows students to play with recording artists like Rick Brantley and Shelly Fairchild in front of a paying Nashville audience. All proceeds from this event benefit the W.O. Smith School of Music in Nashville. The event has strong support from it’s official sponsors: Fork’s Drum Closet, Soundcheck Nashville, Douglas Corner, Sean Deel Foundation, Western Beat, DW Drums, Sabian, Remo, Promark, Roland, Gator, Cympad, LP, Prologix, Audio Technica, Drumtacs, Pitch Slap, Red Monkey, Danmar, Auarlex, and many other amazing companies. Parise for “Drummer’s Weekend”: “Rich taught me that enthusiasm and passion are contagious. I have been in bands and playing in front of people since I was 11, and have since reached a whole new level after living the CRASH life. I would highly recommend the Drummer’s Weekend to anyone who is serious about drumming!” Cody Hawkins/Age 17, Upstate New York “I knew when I signed up for the Rockstar Package at Rich Redmond’s Drummer’s Weekend in Nashville that I was going to be part of something great! The opportunity to learn from, hang, and jam with some of the finest musicians in the business was what I was yearning for and is exactly what I got! What I didn’t expect was how well treated and special we all were made to feel. The accommodations were sweet, the food was plenty, wonderful door prizes were handed out, and friendships were made. It was OVER THE TOP (just like Rich himself)! I came home with much more then a drum experience…I came home with memories that will last a lifetime! If you’re looking to something good for your drumming and yourself….check out Rich Redmond’s Drummer’s Weekend! You’ll be glad you did!” –Bobby A/Professional drummer/educator “When dreaming of a career as a professional drummer; you think so much about your chops, skills, and proficiency behind the kit. Redmond’s “Drummers Weekend” not only addresses this, but all the other important facets of being a working musician; your attitude, work ethic, versatility, and preparedness. They key to achieving any goal is to dream big, and dream with FOCUS. Having 3 days of hands on time with the best in the business taught me exactly what to expect, and how to best live my dream.” -Jimmy Elcock/Drummer and Bandleader for Jamie Lynn Spears “If Rich’s “Drummer’s Weekend” were stock, he would be locked up for insider information trading! Through this weekend I learned that IT IS possible to have a professional drumming career.  Drummer’s Weekend answers the what if’s and how to’s, while re-igniting the personal investment of one’s drumming passion! I highly recommend this event to ALL drummers regardless of gender and age. I would be attending the 2nd annual event, but I can’t……. because it would be cutting into my moving expenses to Nashville!!!! On top of that, you could earn a very cool nickname from your peers, ha! Looking forward to seeing you at the 3rd annual event as a local!” -John “Freaking” Salazar/Lifelong Drummer “I have had the pleasure of attending Rich Redmond’s first annual Crash Course for Success Drummer’s Weekend last year and was blow away with the entire experience. Not only did I walk away as a better player, but I was also given invaluable insight on what it really takes to make it in the music business. 6 months after attending I landed my first professional gig as a musician and owe a lot of it to the concepts I learned throughout this course. This was easily one of the best business decisions I made for myself as a musician. Thanks Rich!” – Dan Mahoney Jr., Chicago, IL “This camp changed the way I play for the better in so many ways! The one on one instruction from Rich, and ALL of the incredible guests made me think about how I played the drums and what my drum parts means to a song. Rich said to me, “If you were to hear what you recorded back 20 years from now, would you be happy with what you played?” That REALY opened up my eyes to play the drums  more for the group and the song than to play for myself and what I thought was cool. Rich is one of those guys in the music biz that we all strive to be. But the one thing that sets him apart is his willingness to give. He gives of his time, his knowledge and his resources. I had to pay the over weight fee at the airport coming home because I received SO many door prizes and exclusive giveaways! Incredible! Don’t miss out on being apart of this opportunity! Rich has become a great friend and mentor. He encouraged me to move to Nashville and I am now a full-time working drummer based in Nashville!” -J.W. Jaeger/Professional Drummer “Attending Rich’s Drummer Weekend provided me with the skills and information I needed to kick-start my dream of playing drums for a living.  Rich instilled more passion, professionalism, and a sense of overall musicianship in 3 days than I had learned in my 11 years of playing! I left camp with new friends, new knowledge, and more desire than ever before. If you are someone looking to break into the professional music industry, this drumming experience will change your life! I had no serious gigs when I showed up at the camp, but by using what I learned at camp, I have since been busy playing almost every weekend with a regional touring act. Thanks Rich!” –Evan Berg/Now Professional Drummer
